We are a thriving, over-subscribed two form entry Catholic Primary and Nursery School (NOR 507) offering the right applicant an exciting opportunity to lead us into a bright future.

Our school is fortunate in many ways being situated in extensive grounds with enthusiastic and dedicated staff and an active supporting Governing Body.  We are offering our new Headteacher an exciting opportunity to partner with parents and the wider community to secure the best possible outcomes for all the children in our school.

Following the decision of the existing post-holder to retire at the end of this academic year, we are seeking a new Headteacher with vision and ability to lead, manage and inspire our school community as a centre of excellence with a distinctive Catholic ethos.

The school was judged ‘outstanding’ in its last inspection in October 2012.  Under the current Ofsted framework, the school would be likely to achieve ‘good with outstanding elements’ and governors appreciate this, however, the school continues to aspire towards retaining its outstanding judgement.

As our new Headteacher you will have the joy of working with happy, friendly children from many different backgrounds who are eager to learn.  Staff are well motivated, compassionate and work hard alongside dedicated governors committed to ensuring the school continues to progress.

Alongside all these benefits, you will also enjoy the strong support of parents as well as the school’s parishes of St Andrew’s Thornton Heath and St Bartholomew’s Norbury who will jointly support you in maintaining the school’s Catholic ethos.

If you think this person is you, then we would love to hear from you.

We strongly recommend that you visit the school in order to feel for yourself the wonderful ethos that exists – please contact Liam Dowds to make arrangements.

Closing date: Sunday 31 January 2016 at Midnight

"Could we afford it? My belief, as Chair was that we couldn’t afford not to. We needed strong school leaders to be drawn to apply. Our success was down to using Emmaus and definitely money well spent."

Carry Lynott - Chair of Governors, Our Lady and St Brendan's Catholic Primary School, Bradford

"We are delighted with the appointment we made and I have reported to the whole community that we could not have been more thorough in the search or more rigorous in the selection process. Thank you Emmaus Leadership."

Jacqui Feely, Chair at All Hallows Catholic College, Macclesfield

"…we also considered other external recruiters, but Emmaus were clear favourites in terms of their recruitment expertise and in-depth knowledge and appreciation of the catholic school’s sector."

Peter Giorgio, Director of Education, Nottingham Diocese

"I approached Emmaus following our unsuccessful attempts to recruit Deputy DDEs for both Dioceses. They went on to source a far greater number of candidates of high calibre. I highly recommend Emmaus!"

Canon Carolyn Lewis, Director of Education - Diocese of Leicester and Diocese of Derby

"We had been cold called by a few other companies but chose Emmaus as it specialised in Church schools. We were impressed by Liam and his team coming to the school and burrowing in to what the school wanted and needed. He asked searching questions and we were satisfied this was the way forward. I had not been a fan of head hunters before, but I have to say this process and its result was a hugely better experience than going out on our own and was totally professional throughout."

Bridget Prentice, Chair of Governors - Trinity School, Lewisham

"I have personal experience of the quality of service Emmaus provides, when I successfully applied for a Headship position through them. I always felt I could call up, get the ‘inside take’ on the school and ask any questions in complete confidence. The support and expert advice I received made the application process far less daunting and I would thoroughly recommend Emmaus to any Church School looking to appoint a key Leadership position."

Dan Pickard, Headteacher, The Bishop’s CE Primary School - Thetford

"I have no hesitation in commending Emmaus to any school that is seeking to appoint a Christian Headteacher. In particular, Emmaus’ ability to promote the school, assess the ethos of the school and communicate this within the networks of those who might be considered as possible candidates was invaluable."

Clive Purser, Chair of Governors, St Andrew's CE High School for Boys, Worthing

"Emmaus brings a level of professionalism, seen in other industry sectors, to church schools’ recruitment."

The Rt Rev Nick Baines - Anglican Bishop of Leeds

"I cannot imagine a better service to fulfil the requirement of helping a Catholic school find a Head. I was impressed with the number and high quality of candidates sourced by Emmaus Leadership."

Marjorie Bannister, Chair - St Michael's Catholic College, London

"Having previously struggled to recruit two Headteachers - for both a Primary and a Secondary school - Emmaus came to the rescue. Their expert advice and deep understanding of recruiting Headship positions in Catholic schools is invaluable, and I have no hesitation in recommending their knowhow and their values."

Fr David Gibbons, Chair of Governors & Parish Priest, Archdiocese of Southwark
