Could your inspiring leadership shape a recently opened primary free school?

New Generation Schools Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust formed in 2012, is seeking to appoint a Principal for Hope Community School, Sidcup, a one-form (3 -11) entry Primary Free School which opened September 2013 with a Reception class of 30 children and growing towards a 210 intake in 2019. Our MAT already comprises one other member school in Southampton with plans to open more over the coming years.

Hope, Sidcup was graded Good (with Outstanding Behaviour and Safety) by Ofsted in June 2015.

This is a rare opportunity for an existing or first-time or existing Head with a track record of achievement in education and with the vision and skills to lead our new school and create an exemplar model of education.

HOPE is exactly what this school offers to the community of Sidcup. The school is at the very heart of the community; reaching out to local families to increase children's aspirations, encourage a spirit of adventure and maximise each child's talents by underpinning the Christian values of generosity and hospitality to create community pioneers. Inspiring children (of all faiths and none) to not only value their community but also develop the desire, ability and tools to transform and enrich it through innovative and aspirational visions.

So, are you looking for another exciting challenge? Or maybe you know of a passionate, well-qualified, outstanding teacher with successful senior leadership experience who could grow into the role - perhaps a Deputy or Assistant Head looking for your next leadership challenge?

Candidates must be committed Christians with a clear understanding of the needs of very young children as well as successful, wider primary experience.

To find out more about this role and to discuss your situation and what we’re looking for in complete confidence, please contact Liam Dowds, our Emmaus Leadership Advising Consultant who is assisting us with this assignment, on 01737 652043  or .

Closing Date – Sunday 18 February at Midnight

Interviews – Tuesday 27 (Eve) & Wednesday 28 February 2018

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child and we expect all applicants to share this commitment.  Appointments will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

"I cannot imagine a better service to fulfil the requirement of helping a Catholic school find a Head. Emmaus did exactly what they advertised they would do. They researched their network, advertised and presented us with well qualified, high quality, suitable candidates. I was impressed with the number and quality of candidates sourced - I had expected they would attract about half of the candidates they did. Selecting a new Head is intense, complicated and political. It was well worth the price to have an expert like Emmaus guide us safely and successfully through this process."

Marjorie Bannister, Chair - St Michael's Catholic College, London

"We are delighted with the appointment we made and I have reported to the whole community that we could not have been more thorough in the search or more rigorous in the selection process. Thank you Emmaus Leadership."

Jacqui Feely, Chair at All Hallows Catholic College, Macclesfield

"Emmaus brings a level of professionalism, seen in other industry sectors, to church schools’ recruitment."

Bishop Nick Baines - Anglican Bishop of Leeds

"I have no hesitation in commending Emmaus to any school which is seeking to appoint a Christian Head. My only regret is that we did not go to them for the first round of interviews that proved unsuccessful. It is an expensive option, but in the long run they are more than value for money. I am very thankful to God for the ministry of Emmaus, and I warmly commend them to you. In OFSTED terms, they are outstanding."

Bishop Keith Sinclair - Anglican Bishop of Birkenhead

"Having previously struggled to recruit two Headteachers - for both a Primary and a Secondary school - Emmaus came to the rescue. Their expert advice and deep understanding of recruiting Headship positions in Catholic schools is invaluable, and I have no hesitation in recommending their knowhow and their values."

Fr David Gibbons, Chair of Governors & Parish Priest, Archdiocese of Southwark

"Thank you for all your support, advice and professionalism through out the long and complex process of our Head’s appointment. Having helped us appoint first time round it was unfortunate, due to personal circumstances, that our new Head had to subsequently withdraw post appointment. We were truly grateful for your service guarantee, which meant we incurred no further costs in appointing her replacement. Your unfailing support and advice at all times was greatly appreciated."

Nicholas van As, Chair of Personnel Committee - Coulsdon CE Primary School

"Thank you for everything you did to successfully support our recruitment of an outstanding Headteacher for our Roman Catholic Non-Maintained Special School. Using Emmaus Leadership to manage the recruitment to the post was much debated and was the subject of intense scrutiny by our Governing Body who were somewhat reluctant to use a leadership recruitment specialist. However, their confidence was reinstated as a result of your professional approach, your insightful knowledge, the very high standard of advertising of the post and the resulting candidate pool. I have no hesitation in recommending Emmaus to other schools."

Annie Sutton - Executive Principal, St Joseph's RC Specialist School and College

"I have no hesitation in commending Emmaus to any school that is seeking to appoint a Christian Headteacher. In particular, Emmaus’ ability to promote the school, assess the ethos of the school and communicate this within the networks of those who might be considered as possible candidates was invaluable."

Clive Purser, Chair of Governors, St Andrew's CE High School for Boys, Worthing

"We have been working with Emmaus Leadership on a number of hard to fill leadership vacancies across the Diocese. All of our dealings have been extremely professional and the feedback from schools has been very positive. It has been somewhat refreshing to deal with a recruitment company that have a good understanding of the Catholic sector, the workings of a Diocese and the requirements of Foundation Governors in appointing senior leaders to our schools. Our experience of Emmaus Leadership has been very positive and I fully recommend their services."

Stephen Bryan, Deputy Director of Education - Archdiocese of Southwark

"Emmaus were instrumental in persuading me to apply for the post of Headteacher. I had seen the school advertising in the past but nothing inspired me to get in touch. Once Emmaus advertised I felt intrigued and keen to learn more about the school. I was supported throughout the whole process, which was a very personal and positive experience. I would highly recommend Emmaus to any school thinking of recruiting, and candidates considering registering. If my new school had not used Emmaus I probably wouldn’t have applied."

Hannah Walters, Headteacher, Platt CE Primary School - Kent
