A challenging yet wonderful opportunity to rebuild our future
St Matthew Academy, which moved into a state-of-the-art new building in September 2007, is an all-through Catholic academy that serves girls and boys aged 3 – 16 years old within the community of Blackheath, SE London.
St Matthew’s faces significant challenges, yet has enormous potential to become ‘outstanding’ in time. An IEB led by an experienced governor with credentials as a national leader in governance; revitalised and enthused staff under the executive leadership of Serge Cefai from the outstanding Sacred Heart School in Southwark, supported by two other consultant headteachers from outstanding Catholic schools in the Primary and Secondary phase, is already paying dividends. Combined with restructured finances and fully supportive sponsors in the Archdiocese of Southwark - this all makes for a wonderful platform from which to drive rapid and sustainable progress.
We are seeking a strong and empowering pupil orientated Head of Primary, with the desire and know-how to nurture a dynamic learning environment with an unrelenting focus on developing high aspirations and successful outcomes for students.
Whilst experience is welcome, demonstrable talent without previous experience of Headship is equally welcome.
Applications are sought from practising Catholics. Equally, others committed to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school are warmly invited to apply.
If you believe you can provide outstanding leadership, which inspires and motivates others towards excellence and ensures the very best education for all our learners, then we would like to hear from you.
