I approached Emmaus following our own unsuccessful attempts to recruit Deputy DDEs for both the Dioceses of Leicester and Derby. It was soon apparent that Emmaus understood the intricacies of a Diocesan Board of Education and the distinctive nature of Church Schools. Although we had clear ideas of the sort of applicants we were looking for, it was beneficial to work with Emmaus as they went well beyond our own established networks, approaching and having conversations with individuals who perhaps might not initially think they ‘fit the mould’. We came across Emmaus by accident after our own attempts to recruit a Headteacher failed.
