Could this be the next big opportunity you've been waiting for?

“If you feel excited, anxious, humbled and challenged with the privilege of taking responsibility for enabling our community to continue its journey of improvement, you are probably the leader we want.”

St Mary Redcliffe and Temple School is a successful and heavily oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational, Church of England, comprehensive school of over 1700 students, with a national reputation for excellence. The school is at the heart of our vibrant city, with students coming from every part of Greater Bristol and beyond. Our school enjoys a rich diversity of Christian heritage, with students from traditions as diverse as Anglican, Catholic, Baptist, Church of God of Prophecy, and Church of South India, to name but a few.

Whilst much has been achieved, there is much work yet to do, particularly in relation to the interaction of the school’s success, its site, teaching and learning and how to cater creatively for a burgeoning Sixth Form and a growing reputation for supporting students with special needs. You will be joined in all your endeavours by an enthusiastic team of governors, staff and students that hum with common purpose to the school’s motto: ‘‘The glory of God is a human being fully alive’ (St Irenaeus).

For an existing Head this could be the next big challenge you seek …or for an experienced Deputy or Assistant Head with a proven track record of whole school improvement and still yet untapped potential, we have the capacity, resources and above all the desire to develop and support you to become the outstanding leader God is calling you to be.

A requirement of the post is that applicants must be practising Christians.

Our school is an equal opportunities employer and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. DBS check required.

"We tried going it alone to find a CEO for our MAT but had only 2 applicants who didn't meet our requirements. We approached Emmaus and from the start their professionalism was reassuring."

Barry Leyland, Chair - Blessed Edward Bamber Catholic Multi Academy Trust

"Emmaus brings a level of professionalism, seen in other industry sectors, to church schools’ recruitment."

The Rt Rev Nick Baines - Anglican Bishop of Leeds

"…we also considered other external recruiters, but Emmaus were clear favourites in terms of their recruitment expertise and in-depth knowledge and appreciation of the catholic school’s sector."

Peter Giorgio, Director of Education, Nottingham Diocese

"Having previously struggled to recruit two Headteachers - for both a Primary and a Secondary school - Emmaus came to the rescue. Their expert advice and deep understanding of recruiting Headship positions in Catholic schools is invaluable, and I have no hesitation in recommending their knowhow and their values."

Fr David Gibbons, Chair of Governors & Parish Priest, Archdiocese of Southwark

"We are delighted with the appointment we made and I have reported to the whole community that we could not have been more thorough in the search or more rigorous in the selection process. Thank you Emmaus Leadership."

Jacqui Feely, Chair at All Hallows Catholic College, Macclesfield

"I approached Emmaus following our unsuccessful attempts to recruit Deputy DDEs for both Dioceses. They went on to source a far greater number of candidates of high calibre. I highly recommend Emmaus!"

Canon Carolyn Lewis, Director of Education - Diocese of Leicester and Diocese of Derby

"This is the second time our Governing Board has used the services of Emmaus Leadership in the successful appointment of a new headteacher and we have no hesitation in recommending them to others."

Rosemary Johnson, Chair of Governors - Lowton CE High School

"I have no hesitation in commending Emmaus to any school that is seeking to appoint a Christian Headteacher. In particular, Emmaus’ ability to promote the school, assess the ethos of the school and communicate this within the networks of those who might be considered as possible candidates was invaluable."

Clive Purser, Chair of Governors, St Andrew's CE High School for Boys, Worthing

"I cannot imagine a better service to fulfil the requirement of helping a Catholic school find a Head. I was impressed with the number and high quality of candidates sourced by Emmaus Leadership."

Marjorie Bannister, Chair - St Michael's Catholic College, London

"We came across Emmaus by accident after our own attempts to recruit a Headteacher failed. We would not hesitate to engage them again to find a suitable candidate for a leadership position."

Michael Tennant - Chairman of the Board, St Edward's School
